Our work

International Seafarers' Welfare Awards

The International Seafarers' Welfare Awards give seafarers the chance to say thank you to companies and organisations who have offered them high quality welfare services and facilities.

By raising awareness of best practice, we hope to encourage improvements in existing welfare provision and promote new services and facilities for seafarers around the world. This is part of our ongoing work to promote the implementation of the International Labour Organization's Maritime Labour Convention (MLC, 2006), which includes welfare obligations and recommendations.

A summary of the 2018 International Seafarers' Welfare Awards held in Geneva can be found here.

Our next awards will be hosted by Inmarsat on Wednesday 11 September 2019 as part of London International Shipping Week. Find out more and register to attend at: www2.inmarsat.com/lisw-iswan.
